THE CHALLENGE

The City of North Richland Hills wanted to upgrade their aging municipal waterpark with a state-of-the-art slide attraction while reducing costs and increasing attendance.

The Solution

Aquatic Design Group worked with City officials to develop a long-range, phased development plan that would address their immediate need and future improvement projects. In creating a ride-through analysis, Aquatic Design Group was able to identify the best slide attraction option that would stay within the allocated budget and maximize the guest experience.

The Results

NRH2O opened the first “Viper” waterslide in the United States that features high banking turns and drop into a 20 foot MEGAtube that the whole family can experience together. Since the Viper opened, NRH2O has seen an increase in attendance while still providing health and recreation services that serve the needs of the community. In addition, at night the Viper comes to life with a multi-colored light show that is synchronized to music and is visible from the adjacent highway.
